IM® K–8 Math v.360 from Illustrative Mathematics® Earns Perfect Gateway Scores on 2025 EdReports Analysis

Independent reviewers for EdReports awarded classroom-centered, problem-based curriculum from Illustrative Mathematics the highest possible gateway scores

July 31, 2025 — EdReports, an independent nonprofit that equips educators nationwide to find and demand the highest-quality PK–12 instructional materials, today gave Illustrative Mathematics perfect scores in all gateway categories for its IM Math K–8 v.360 curriculum. Every previous version of IM’s K–12 Math curriculum published through our certified partners has also received the highest ratings in all gateway categories on the EdReports curriculum analysis, which assesses quality, usability, alignment to grade-level standards, coherence, and opportunities for all students, including multi-language learners, to engage with rigorous content.

“Walk into an IM classroom and you’ll see students sketching diagrams, arguing about the sum of fractions, and realizing, ‘I can do this,’” said Kristin Umland, president and cofounder of Illustrative Mathematics. “That spark — the moment when math turns from abstract to real — is exactly why we built IM Math v.360. Teachers who’ve used IM Math for years tell us their kids aren’t just passing tests; they’re beginning to see themselves as mathematicians. EdReports’ perfect scores on all three gateways — coherence, rigor, and usability — validate those everyday wins and challenge us to keep finding more ways to support every learner.”

Released in 2024, IM Math v.360 builds on years of feedback from teachers, school leaders, and students on previous versions of IM Math, providing a comprehensive and supportive roadmap to problem-based classroom instruction. IM Math v.360 empowers teachers to ensure that every child learns grade-level mathematics and develops a positive mathematical identity through engaging learning experiences.
